Laser technology as a core driving force in the field of industrial manufacturing itself is constantly developing; generally speaking, lasers are developing in the four directions of "faster, higher, better, shorter".
Faster: the pulse speed of the laser is getting faster and faster, the ultra-fast laser has made rapid development, and has come out of the laboratory to enter the industrial application with simpler structure, more convenient operation, lower cost and more stable performance. Higher: lasers are increasingly powerful, averaging more than 100000 watts. In 2013, the first commercial 100000 watt fiber laser was installed in Nagoya's nadex, Japan, to weld 300mm thick steel plates. The application of laser cutting is also developing towards higher power. The power of laser cutting machine has been up to 82kw. Better: laser output beam quality is getting better, fiber laser beam quality has reached 100000 watt level single mode. In the past year, the brightness of fiber laser, disc laser, direct semiconductor laser has been greatly improved. Shorter: the output wavelengths of lasers cover shorter wavelengths, and short wavelength lasers have been widely used. Many advanced manufacturing processes require cold processing, such as in smartphone manufacturing, often using short-wavelength, short-pulse UV lasers. Short wavelength laser has been widely used in surface marking, semiconductor wafer processing, drilling, cutting and so on.
